I agree with drgnlady-- I think it is a huge factor, especially if members are required to live-in at some point. I think the decor can really set the mood, and if you don't feel comfortable or "at home" then it can be a deal breaker.

I don't think the influence of a house's decor or layout or vibe can be underestimated, because while you live-in, it's your home in which you spend a considerable amount of time.
