Could you state, when asked what your standing is, "I'm a senior by hours, but I'll be here two more years." I don't see what would be wrong with that.
Do fall recruitment. You have a limited amount of time left, so why delay another semester? And I would hazard a guess that the two groups rushing in the fall may be you best shot anyway.
