I believe UMD has fall informal for upperclassmen and freshmen can only participate in formal recruitment, which is in Jan.

I seem to be posting this alot lately, but:

It is never a good idea for a PNM to come on the internet and say "I want to be in or am interested in ________ sorority."

Recruitment is a mutual selction process that works best when PNMs are open to all chapters that are participating.

It's just not good to get your mind set on ONE particular sorority because you never know if they will choose to invite you back.

just to clarify: A freshman can go through informal recruitment during her first semester at Maryland, but she must have 12 credits and a 2.5 GPA to receive a bid. I suggest waiting until the spring to go through recruitment so that you can adjust to college life.
