I love your story, but I have to ask: what's a creepy mascot? Sasquatch? I know you can't answer now, but if you wouldn't mind telling me later (PM?), I'm dying of curiosity!

A skull and crossbones, if that particular chapter emphasized that as a mascot! Some people think owls are a little scary. Then there are those terrifying pandas that AOPi has... hehe.

I know someone on here said she was creeped out by an overabundance of Raggedy Ann dolls during rush.

Yeah, I am unnerved by the GIANT Hannah Dolls/Raggedy Anne dolls that are about 3 feet high or bigger. You know the size of a small child.

That was going to be my guess, cause I've heard other people say that about their rush.

Never underestimate the frightening awesomeness of the Alpha Phi ivy. Reminds everyone of kudzu, which grows in abundance and chokes the life out of other plants. Out, damned weed!
I've been rooting for Summer and Spring since the beginning, but since there are several people pulling for Summer, what the heck... I'll cheer for Spring!
I actually have a guess as to where the OP goes to school... which is highly irregular for me, as I'm usually one of the ones who wonders how several posters figure that kind of stuff out all the time...

In our last installment, I had been invited back to
1. Summer (where Jill’s roommate Marie was a member and where they had a top 10 skit) and
2. Spring (where my friend Tara was a member and where they had a similar top 10 skit).
I found out that Winter had done a “national” skit that their group always did and that Fall had done a version of the Sound of Music. Being a musical-geek I was pretty upset that I hadn’t seen Fall’s skit, but that was where my disappointed ended. I was still pretty excited about my good interactions at Summer and Spring and my realization that 2 groups wanted me.
We did not have to make any decisions just yet, but instead had “Hall Night” to attend before we ranked or before the groups did cuts. Hall night was a very casual night and we could go on our own schedule to whichever halls we still had invitations to. So I had 2 hours of open time and 2 groups to visit. I decided to start out at Spring, stay exactly one hour and then go to Summer, so that’s exactly what I did.
Spring’s hall was so cute. It was decorated in their colors and their mascot. Tara showed me her room and showed me some pictures of the two of us from Middle School. I was pretty touched that she even still had those pictures. She introduced me up and down the hall, and made sure that I met pretty much every single girl in Spring! I had kept a close watch on the time though and politely excused myself. Tara asked me where else I’d be going, and I decided to be honest and told her Summer. She looked pretty disappointed when I left.
I went to Summer’s hall. Their hall was decorated with their mascot and one of their colors. I really liked their door decorations. They were too adorable. I went straight to Jill and Marie’s room. Of course Jill wasn’t there because Jill wasn’t in a sorority, but Marie about leapt out of her chair when she saw me. She took me to every single room on the hall. I looked at scrapbooks and pictures and heard lots of stories. At one point I was in a room with Careen and realized that she and I were actually a lot alike. We talked quite a bit that night, and for a while we made fun of Beth and her overdone hair and clothes. Then of course, Beth walked in. She was seriously wearing a church dress. Everyone else on the hall was in jeans and t-shirts, but not Beth!
The next day, we each had to meet with our Rho Chi’s and turn in our rankings. Mine was a little tougher because we had to put them in order, but I ranked them
1. Spring
2. Summer
And then waited to hear from my Rho Chi as to if I’d be invited back to anyone’s preference night or not.

I'm just curious why your rankings changed. It seemed like you had a good time at both parties (or halls I guess!) but suddenly ranked Spring over Summer.
I'm excited for Pref Night!
