You still have this semester to bring up your grades some!! Don't give up hope! Study really hard for your midterms and finals!!!

Good luck!

Ditto on being in one of the happiest places for an undergrad! My oldest son is graduating from UF on May 3, and while he's happy to be moving on, some of the best years of his life have been in Gainesville!! GO GATORS~!!

Your GPA for recruitment is going to be based on your COLLEGE grades (your HS GPA no longer matters once you're a soph).

Every chapter has different minimum GPA requirements and your GPA may very well put you at a disadvantage. Also consider the fact that recruitment is made up of mostly freshmen, who will have higher GPAs.

In terms of being a soph, it happens, but not typically. A sophomore who gets a bid has to stand out. They have to have stellar grades, campus activities, and friends in some of the chapters. There was to be something for them to be able to choose to take you over a new freshman.

Yeah, I know my chances are slim. But I'm a fighter and I have to do it. If I don't get picked then I'll wait for spring and if I don't get it then, at least I did it instead of never having done it.

Go Gators! I'm so happy I'm feeling the love here for UF. If you have kids and you live in Florida I totally recommend that they apply here. Even without being in Greek Life, UF is such a fun school to be in. There's something for everyone. The community service club I'm in is so much fun and in general, I've found it so easy to make friends even though I have a good group of friends from high school here. Of course, the fact that it's such a huge school makes certain things harder, like getting into a sorority or fraternity, and applying for certain organizations, but the size of the student population makes it such a diverse school and it's just great all around.

Ok I'll stop gloating about UF now ^_^

Woah, diversity just popped into my head! I'm hispanic but I'm born and raised here in the US. Do you think being Hispanic might make me less "Sorority material." I know that the answer is more likely no, but I guess I like to expect the worse so that there are no surprises when the time comes ^_^

*Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I do not believe that UF has any spring recruitment.
