It wasn't a dream. Kate & Sawyer gave Ben to the Others. He was/will be saved, but loses his innocence as a result.
It always happened. Everything Ben did to the Dharma Initiative happened, too. It looks like the Losties caused it all.
I like how they made sure to say "
we can still die because the future already happened." Based on that logic, Who do you think we'll lose in the finale?
