USAToday is reporting Nadya Suleman will be on Dr. Phil today and tomorrow. Apparently she called up Phil after Kaiser Permanente told her they would not release the babies to her until she could prove she had the means to take care of them. If this is true, GOOD FOR YOU KAISER!

So, I must not have a life, because I am watching Dr. Phil interview her. It seems to me that the more she talks, the more it sounds like she is justifying her choices and has no clue what is reality anymore. It seems like even Dr. Phil is getting frustrated with her.
Did she really say why aren't they questioning the Duggars? Um, we do. But they have no debt! They are married. He has a job!
ETA: They just showed the previous footage of her with the doctor. Is it just me, or is he using a vaginal probe to do her ultrasound?

Yes, he is using a vaginal probe.
Also re:the Duggars - they didn't have them ALL AT ONCE. Newborns are VERY labour intensive, in a way that older children are not. They are a COUPLE - two parents! They have the MONEY to support their children - so Octomom loses in the analogy category, too.

The Duggars are the ones in "John & Kate + 8" right?
I think it was an interview with the mom - she said when the last were born, they had a lot of help in addition to her & her husband. She also said they didn't have any debt.
Which is a far cry from Octo-Mom. Crazy lady.

The Duggars = super-Christian conservative family from Arkansas with 18 kids, all whose names start with J.
The Gosselins = Jon & Kate Plus 8, from Central Pennsylvania and only have 8 kids (a set of twins, and a set of sextuplets). Mom is Caucasian, Dad is Caucasian/Korean.

I enjoyed this gigantic family overview.
I think people have questioned the Duggars a lot, but I agree there's a fundamental difference in people who have their kids naturally and provide for them and people who have fertility assistance and then have no resources to provide for the kids.
I'm sure we'd question a single mother with no income other than disability who had 14 kids over 14 years too, but the fact that some medical facility helped her get pregnant to have that many kids makes us wonder even more about how stuff should be done.
A lot of what I wonder about isn't really related to Octo because I just assume she's nuts; what I wonder is how the theoretically sane medical staff would ethically decide to help her have that many kids that she couldn't take care of. I know they've claimed she may have misrepresented her circumstances, but if we have standards for parents to clear for adoption and foster care, why would we have absolutely no standards for IVF when the mom already has six kids?
