I have a quick question:
I rushed in the fall, but a lot of people kept asking me which ones I liked. I tell them that I was pretty open, and felt 5 out of the 8 houses seem to fit me. Of course, the follow up question they ask is which ones I liked. So I name them, but I say that those qualities in the 5 houses that I liked seem to fit my personal style well, while the other ones, though still nice, did not.
So I hope that is the proper answer.
The next part is though, is that some sorority women trash one of the houses and say how desperate they are. I agree to that, before I even think (this happened specifically today). Will that hurt my chances in rushing next fall?

Actives should not be asking you any of these questions OR trashing other houses in front of potential new members. ALL you have to say is that you're keeping your options open and you've met some great sorority women. DON'T TAKE THE BAIT!

If we ever trashed another organization in front of PNM, I'm sure we'd get into some serious trouble. That's not classy to be trashing other groups. It's just petty.

*NEVER talk about other chapters during recruitment. They REALLY shouldn't be asking you that in the first place to be honest. It puts PNMs in an unfair position.
If anyone asks who you like, say something like "oh well everyone I met has been really nice."
Alot of times, if a girl mentions certain houses when asked that, a sorority may say "oh, well she said she likes XYZ and ABC, so let's just cut her now because she didn't mention us." You don't want that.
*If a sorority member is trashtalking other chapters, don't play into it.
They shouldn't be saying those kinds of things anyway.
Also you never know if they're the type of person who will take that info and hold it against you (like, "oh I mentioned XYZ and she said they were SO desperate. What a bitch!"). It also just generally isn't good to bash chapters as a PNM because you never know who will pass that info on and affect you in a bad way.
