I can see where your going with this. It seems like nothing major happens for two or three years, then two or three planes go down in a span of 6 months, then nothing for another two or three years. High-profile Celebrity deaths work the same way.

While I always hear that bad things come in 3s, I can't say that I've believed in it.
The number 3 is considered good luck in the Japanese culture.

Of course you'll never know - do things really happen in 3s, or are you just more hyper-aware after 2 things happen? Maybe things really happen in 2s, or 4s, but if you are looking for them to happen in 3s, guess what? They do.

That's exactly what I meant. It's weird. I guess as people have mentioned, things tend to happen in 3s.

Yeah, I misunderstood your point - it sounded like you were saying that we only hear about these things in multiples, rather than they seem to happen in close proximity.
