This is the 2nd time in a short time that a Sigep house burned down. Both time, the fire alarm was able to properly tell the brothers that there is a fire in the house and it saved lives.
Please, please, please, always check your fire alarm regularly and make sure the fire exits are not blocked. It will save lives.

Man, that's sad to hear. Not saying it wasn't bad, but at least it wasn't any worse. I wish the best for my brothers. Hopefully the school really helps them out.

I was thinking about that when I read this thread. I wish those boys the best of luck in recovering from what they've lost.

Me too, I'm such an animal lover and it's upsetting the poor dog didn't make it out. It reminded me of the Sig Ep house burning down at WVU when I was there. One of the guys was unconscious outside and his dog wouldn't let anyone near him, so the police shot and killed the dog. His friends had to tell him when he woke up in the hospital and he was apparently VERY upset. I never understood why the police couldn't tranquilize the dog.

That's extremely depressing. Poor dog.

I'm a Sigma Kappa alum attending ECU for graduate school and was in class when I saw the alert pop up on my laptop. I don't know many Greeks here on campus since I don't have a chaptor here and I'm rarely on main campus with undergrads, but it still broke my heart to hear what happened. It's times like this that you can see the closeness of the Greek community when we all try to help each other out when things get rough. Hopefully, the Greeks at ECU can come together for the guys at Sigma Phi Epsilon, also.
