I've lived in Dallas for almost a year now, so here are my thoughts for anybody wanting to move.
First don't try to move during the summer if you can help it. It gets really, really hot here during the summer
Next get your hands on the Apartment Guide to check out appartments. I suggest the North Dallas area. It's a little bit pricy, but there are plently of things to do. Along those lines try a get something in Denton county. You get cheap car insurance rate in this county
A car is a must. Thr public transportation system is awesome,but some of the bus stops don't have coverings. Really not fun waiting for the bus in 100 degree heat
The highway system is no joke. I-635 is no joke and is forever under construction
