For a while, I was taking iron suppliments but was still anemic. The nurse at the Red Cross suggested that I start taking my iron with a Vitamin C tab because Vitamin C helps your body absorb iron. And magicly, two or three weeks later, my hematocrit was up enough to donate blood. Yay!
