I'm on my third sinus infection of the year. I guess what really sucks about it is that I had never had one before this year, and now I've had three. What gives? I never knew how much these things hurt - I feel like someone's been kicking my nose and cheeks from inside my head.
Hubby has the stomach bug that's going around. My daughter has had a cough for two weeks, and my son has the flu. Why must we all get sick at once?

I still have a cough, have been sick for like two weeks, though, on and off fighting a cold. Then last week it won and I was miserable but have been working through it, going to the gym has helped.

I started getting a lot of sinus infections when I moved to Idaho. These are the things that influenced my condition.
Allergies - something that grows here I'm allergic to. I'm also allergic to mold and it was in my old apartment.
Adenoids - my adenoids grew back (wtf? I had them removed many years prior) and were infected.
Deviated septum - my nose had been broken and because of the first two issues, it couldn't drain the infection (eww).
Antibiotic resistance - I had been given so many different drugs with poor results that the infection never went away, and not much worked.
Try and see if you can get a referral to an ear nose and throat doctor and/or an allergist. I'm so much better after multiple surgeries and allergy treatments. Also getting a sinus rinse kit helps so much, and they are pretty much safe for everyone, even pregnant women since it is just warm water and salt squirted up your nose.

Thank you, VandalSquirrel! I had never heard of these until your post prompted some research. I recently bought a NettiPot and have used it a few times - it's wonderful! I was reluctant at first to pour water up my nose, but once I got past the initial weirdness, I've learned to really appreciate it. Thanks again for the suggestion!

Dude with a cold the lutefisk won't smell or taste so bad. I wish I was coming home at the end of the month so we could wear our Norwegian sweaters and make lefse

I can't do the netti pot style, but the squeeze bottle works wonders. After one of my sinus surgeries it was a lifesaver with the dissolving packing they crammed in there. I had the worst headache and by rinsing it got a huge chunk out and all the pressure was gone.

I wish people would stop coming in to work sick. Coming in and then staying two feet away from everybody is not a solution. Do NOT come in and then say "Stay back, I'm sick so I want to stay away from you" Unless you refrain from touching ANYTHING that anybody else will have to touch, you are spreading your germs. ARG! We have sick days for a reason people!!!!

Ugh, all the cashiers at the store I work at are are coming down with all sorts of nasty bugs. They don't even have to tell you they're sick, when they walk in and look like death warmed over, it's easy to tell. One of the managers ended up buying vats of hand sanitizers for the registers, and the cashiers literally bathe in it.

I don't feel well, and haven't for a while. And not sick sick, like I was about two weeks ago, just recovering from that has taken forever and I don't even do anything lately because of it. I just want to go back home to my couch and curl up and watch up cartoons until I stop feeling like ass checks stuck to a vinyl car seat on a road trip when the heater is on.

I'm sick. infected sinus, clogged ears and runny nose. blah! The upside to this is I think I infected my classmates last week. I hate the bastards. I should not have gone to class, as I was coughing sneezing, hacking and everything else under the sun but I couldn't miss class. Evil I know but they deserve it.
