As a junior, you'll be excluded from membership in some chapters right off the bat because of your year in school. The sororities that cut upperclassmen vary by year. Sometimes a chapter that cuts a lot of upperclassmen will make an exception for someone's best friend or relative.

Your grades are going to be critical, so it will be important to come in with a strong GPA. If you can get recommendations, I would recommend doing so. Recs aren't make or break at UCF, but the chapters are seeing a lot more recs, and they certainly can help you stand out. A lot of women go through recruitment.

As far as attending sorority events, sorority philanthropy events (Hoops and Hogs, Cheers for Charity, Lip Sync, Shakedown, etc.) are generally open for anyone to attend.

Tell your sorority friends you are interested in going through recruitment and see if they have any advice. Don't be a stalker. They may invite you over to the house sometime, if they have a chapter house.

If you'll be starting at UCF before recruitment (e.g. summer time), mind your P's and Q's. There are plenty of people on campus. If you're hanging out at a fraternity house, people are going to take notice of how you behave. This shouldn't discourage you from making friends with fraternity guys, but just watch your behavior at parties.

Best of luck and congrats on UCF!
