Co-sign. And in the spirit of opening this up for the fraternities...

Sigma Chi Cadets - The Sigma Chi chapter at the University of Miami [Florida] during World War II was composed chiefly of Navy personnel. Over 8,000 war personnel, including members of the British Royal Air Force, received training at the University.

Earlier in the 20th century, new initiates of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. in Tennessee can be seen carrying their canes.

What a thread!!! To think all these women with such different lifestyles went through the same rituals as you ladies! This really emphasizes the connection we have in GLOs! Haha I'm hoping for a vintage Alpha Phi picture obviously, but keep them all coming!

*Rant*Ok, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the fashion from back in the 50's and early 60's. The silhouettes were so flattering for different figures. Pretty, pretty pretty! */End Rant*

Some old pictures from germany
Last night we had our monthly alumni dinner at our house and i took some photos of framed pictures hanging all around our house. So the overall quality is not quite good.

Aw! This picture is so sweet. I adore the dress, too. But I especially love how they are looking at each other.
Back on topic, I really enjoy looking at these retro pictures. Maybe it's the sentimental mood I'm in, but I get a strong sense of history and years tradition and sisterhood. I think it's really sweet seeing pictures of founders, and pictures of sorority women in front of their house that is over 100 years old. I think it would be amazing to be a part of something so steeped in tradition with thousands of sisters of sisters everywhere.
(back to my nosing around old threads....)
