IF I was to be granted membership and IF I was to become President I would add the following things (along with the Targets and concentration on Leadership Development):

1) I think there should be even more of an emphasis on the Black Family. We all want to help with the many issues of the world today, but I think that we must start in our own homes. Many of todays children are being brought up in single parent homes, and I believe these children need some more support. This could also tie into mentoring these children (which many members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. already do).

2) I would also put up a national school book program. Many public schools (pre-k to 12th grade) in our communities are using old and worn out text books. This program would help give schools new text books for their students to work with. I believe that everyone needs a good education (as many people do), and old Textbooks should not be a reason not to get one.

3) Another would be a self-esteem/Confidence building concentration. I believe each chapter should build their own program to help build and lift these characteristics in our people (young and old). We all know that this is an issue that is the core of many of today's problems. If we had higher self-esteems and more confidence our lives would greatly improve.
