I'm the recruitment advisor for ADPi at GWU, and while I wouldn't necessarily call recruitment at GW competitive, greek life is growing quickly. It looks like a record number of girls are going to be signed up for formal recruitment.

I wasn't around for Alpha Phi's colonization, but I got to witness Pi Phi's. They did have a large number of women to pick from and got a great group for their colonizing class. GWU has since added a separate quota for juniors and seniors, so I'll be interested in seeing how many upperclassmen attempt formal recruitment, vs. last time when most interested upperclassmen went straight for the Pi Phi colony.

Anyway, to the original poster -- the vast majority of women who go through formal recruitment at GWU, keep an open mind and maximize their options (i.e. give every chapter a chance) will end up getting placed. I would recommend going through formal recruitment at least to get a feel for all of the chapters. Chi O will be presenting during open round, so you'll get to learn a little more about them at that point.
