One could say that I've been "raised" Democrat. When your step-brother has been in office as Lt. Governor and now Governor, one can't help but be involved
. Hawaii's been a strong supporter of the Democratic party since statehood, and as far as I know, we've never had a Republican from Hawaii hold office in Congress.
During our teachers/professors' strike, I was questioning my 1998 vote for governor. At that time, I had actually wished that I had voted Republican...but shh, don't tell my idiot step-brother that.
