He meant L = Lambda as in "First letter of the word"
It's still the Greek letter, but the spelling of it like that is latin... or something to that extent.


And I personally don't think it matters how you spell it. LXA and LCA are teh same thing to me, but for what it's worth, when I had our letters monogramed on a visor, the guy tried converting "LXA" to the greek, and got Lambda Eta Alpha, but "LCA" worked fine. Just food for thought.
