It's a rush to get the possible pledges interested and for them to meet the brothers.
Compelling them to do a service activity for a group they have no official tie to is not really kosher, not to mention if they foul it up the org's name is attached to their actions and it can make them look bad. Not to mention liability issues.
It's kind of like having a chapter meeting as an NPC rush activity.
There may be some APO (I'm assuming this is APO) chapters who do this kind of thing, but I personally would not. Stick to socials, movie nights etc.
