Dont think twice about doing it - you know he would do it for you. I think all of us who have pets love them as part of our family and there is nothing silly about it! I have been blessed with good health so far with my 2 year old dog (knock on wood) - I even go a little overboard at her yearly check-ups by having her x-rayed - just to be on the safe side - to check to make sure everything is ok and she hasnt swallowed something that could cause a block. I am sure in saying that your dog has given you 10 years of loving memories and I think it shows a lot about your character that you love him enough to make the financial sacrifice!
