I liked the native costumes they had at the beginning. Do they do that every year? Ok, some of them where lame and DEFINITELY not what a native costume would look like. I was really happy with Miss Norway's costume, though. That's totally what they look like!

Yes, they've been doing the native costume for several years now. I like it a lot...Mexico's rocked.
Comments on this year's pageant:
- Russia's evening gown was nearly identical to the Russian that won Miss Universe a few years ago, and had to give up her crown eventually. NO CREATIVITY POINTS FOR HER!
- The South American contestants really are beautiful...too bad that most of them have probably had plastic surgery.
- What is up with these evening gowns with the "nude" colored fabric? It's UGLY and not classy or elegant looking at all. Miss D.R. looked like she had covered herself in shards of glass, and the metal was reflecting light all over her neck/chin/face, but not in a subtle way.
- Donald Trump may own Miss Universe, but they should really stop focusing the pageant on U.S. TV shows and inside jokes. Don't they realize how lame it all looks when not even the audience "gets" the jokes that the hosts have to deliver?
- I would rather the contestants that can't speak English deliver their intelligent answers in their native tongue than hack it up while attempting to answer in English. This is Miss Universe, who says she must speak English, at least in the pageant?
- I actually really liked Miss Venezuela's answer to her question, and I thought her dress was the prettiest up there. Her answer just got delivered a little messy because of the language barrier. Think about her answer - God made men and women to be different, but to go together. Unfortunately men think the straightest, shortest path to a destination is faster and better, whereas women believe that sometimes the curvy, bumpy road, stopping to "fix" each point along the way, is the best route. She would've gotten the message across far better if she had just spoken in Spanish.
