I, too, have a website and struggle with design. I'm just not a design-oriented person. My solution is to get inspiration from other websites. Sometimes you get so caught up in your own design, that you start to lose perspective on what is aesthetically pleasing. you starting thinking that something hideous is actually pretty good just because it is better than the previous version or because you spent hours working on it.
Check out other sorority websites. I know that many of those are professionally made, but you can find some design elements to copy in yours. I assume that you're using a user-friendly What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get (WYSIWYG) program, which can actually be really fun to work with, and surprisingly versatile.
