In my opinion, in most NPC groups, this activity would be classified as hazing (ie anything that new members are required to do that initiated members are not required to do). Just because there isn't potential for actual physical harm doesn't mean it isn't hazing.
Stand your ground, Corina! I believe that you are correct to oppose this activity. All it will do is single out the new members and in no way bring unity or harmony to the group. Being president is hard. Sometimes it means having to do things the correct way and not the way everyone else wants them done.
