In all honesty, chapter operations vary from school to school and some may weigh more emphasis on your age but if that is the case do you really want to call XYZ members your frat/soror? BGLO's also seem to be a lifelong commitment with alumni showing their pride well into old age.

But as the lovely Lady Delta stated, I'd say speak to the members of that group and get a personal feel.

My chapter pretty regularly accepts new members who are older than the average college student the last year we have had two members who were between 22-24 and two members between 25 and 28 yo. We don't care as long as you don't give off the sketchy old guy vibe.
