You never cease to amaze me about the directness and commonsensical posts in regards to hazing and it's dangers. I still cannot figure out how members and chapters think this is still necessary, or tradition, or whatever LAME excuse is used to veil hazing.
I can't remember who it was, but, there is another thread where someone put it very well - pledges/associate members have to prove their worth to the order, true, but, the initiates have to prove THEIR worth to the pledges/associate members as well - trust HAS to be a two way street - one, that the new members will do the required tasks to become initiated brothers, and two, that the initiated brothers will treat the new members with the dignity and respect they reserve.
