I don't think I'd ever be able to elope. My mother and I are too close for me not to tell her that I plan on getting married. My mother knows me like the back of her hand and if she truly expressed to me and believed in her spirit that I shouldn't be with a certain person, then I'll definitely take that into consideration and pray about it.
I would at least want family and friends who are close to me to share in my happiness. If/When I get married, the ceremony will be very, very small and personal with a big party/reception afterwards.
If my parents don't like the guy or if I "feel" I shouldn't tell them about a person who is supposed to be so special in my life, then I probably shouldn't even be with that guy in the first place.
