^^^That makes me kinda mad. If she didn't want to get into such a sensitive subject she shouldn't have focused on how much she "hated dating". What other response was she hoping for? A nod and a smile? Your daughter was just trying to be sympathetic and helpful. If you don't want to discuss something, don't bring it up!
