It's kind of like going through rush and saying "not only am I not going to put ABC on my pref card, I am going to find all the pref cards w/ ABC on them and erase them."

You are assuming that any women were left in the chapter to keep it running. Nothing was really stopping KBG from going in and recruiting new members to keep the chapter open. Forming an interest group is simply a formality. In the end, the result would be the same. An interest group of former KBG members and no KBG chapter.

Except the school.

Those girls that did not want the switch - and it's irrelevant if it was 10 or 1 - had their chapter taken away when it did not have to be.

If the school wouldn't let KBG continue...that's the school's decision, not the women who decided to become KKGs. Unless there is proof that the school said,"You can all be KBGs or most of you can switch to KKG and we'll close KBG." then how does it become the fault of the women who switched to KKG that the KBG chapter couldn't continue without them? More likely the school wanted an NPC chapter and the girls switched to KKG rather than not be in an active collegiate chapter at all. Of course, I see the best in people's motives not the worst.

The way it reads to me is that the school wanted an NPC chapter but they didn't want to man up and actually kick KBG off campus. If the school was pressuring the girls to dump KBG for an NPC group, well, then, that's doubly shitty. They eliminate a longstanding sorority on their campus for pretty much no reason, plus make it look like it's all the actives' fault.
It's kind of a chicken/egg situation - did the girls want to go NPC because the school wanted them to, or did the school say OK (and shutter the KBG chapter) because the girls were wanting to go NPC?

Exactly! I guess we'll never know the truth about the situation since no one seems very forthcoming.
