Brother,

I'm very curious to see where you go with this. I'm currently High Rho, so I'm interested to see if there is any undergraduate application to your workshop as well.

In regards to fraternity fire: As a member of Epsilon-Mu, I know several alumni who dealt with the devastating fire back in 1995 that took months of rebuilding at our chapter house. Check this vid out for more info about that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PxqPteu4R8

Bill, I think you have some great and far reaching ideas.

As you said, Oh, you need sprinklers is not the only part of the problem.

Escape plans, how to get out of the house, as in training and stairs to get out, fire extingisiers(SP), exits, lighting, smoke detectors, or any thing like fire drills.

How to protect your house from kitchen fires or anyother for that fact.

Explain how the furniture can cause toxic gasses and flame so quickly.

A great idea and hope it goes well.

In ZAX,

Post disaster recovery

Disaster recovery starts with planning. It is a continuum. "What do we do after he fire trucks leave?" could well be a topic for a seminar or two. Dealing with insurance companies, looking at rebuilding policies and the need for counsel to run interference with the city (Oh, your zoning variance was for your OLD house. You'll need to apply again . . .) and with insurance companies.

Also, having house corporations make clear what they are ensuring - and what they are not insuring.

Creative ways to get back into business - leasing somebody else's house, perhaps sharing space (house sharing) with a fraternity that has excess space, working a deal with the local university, who knows.

Could be lots of fun - both for presenters and participants. I see discussions over beverages at Phoenix . . .
