I can assure you he did not. He did live interviews with all the local news stations via satellite and each time he apologized for not being coming out here since he announced his candidacy. His sister's met him out on the campaign trail, though.
He hasn't been here since January OF LAST YEAR. He usually comes every Christmas but last Christmas was the first one in 25 years that he's missed:
