Oh yeah...that's what I get for trying to be friendly sometimes. I'm not used to being places where white men are pursuing black women. So I don't automatically act standoffish like I do with black men who I don't want to be bothered with.

Friendly white people + friendly black people + maybe some drinks at a nonthreatening/unassuming (noncolleague) social gathering = usually some interesting comments.

That poster was saying that some black men do see white women as prizes so on first appearance she is apprehensive about interracial couples.

But the poster also said that she gives these couples the benefit of the doubt beyond that because she knows that a lot of people really do find love "in the swirl."

I have no idea whether the man is parading her around like a prize or not, so I make an effort not to pass judgment.

I haven't the foggiest, and therefore I make no assumptions about his reason for being with her.

o.k. so you give them the benefit of the doubt, but the question I have for you is, why would a black guy think because he's with a white woman he has a prize? It just doesn't make any sense to me. Another question I have for you is, why don't you see a man as man and a woman as a woman? Why the black man/white woman thing?

I've also noticed that when I see a black woman with a white guy, I don't see many stares and snares if any at all. When a black guy is with a white woman though, black women seem to get really mad. I see it all the time. I don't know what the big deal is.

Goodness gracious! What cotton filled world have you been living in? Seriously. Anyways, I don't make it sound like if he's with a black woman he doesn't have a prize, that's how you read it. I believe that if a man is with a good woman he does have a prize, regardless of her race. However, I will say it AGAIN, some black men think that white women are better than black women and those are the ones that I take issue with. And PLEASE do not ask me why, because I don't know. Why are you so worried about it, is my question to you? I have said on MORE THAN ONE occassion that I am well aware that people find love across races. You are a dumb bitch! I'm a brotha who gets pissed off when I see a white dude with a black woman. White dudes have slept with everyone elses women by force, but then want to put their raggedy ass women on a pedistal. Sistas make comments about white girls with black dudes because they wonder why his weak ass would date a white girl. They ask "What's wrong with me?" You're too stuck on yourself to know that though. There are too many fine, educated sistahs for a black dude to go white. Black women go white because they may have had a hard time finding a good black dude. That's why that is. There's no excuse for a black dude though.
