I can't speak for SECDomination...but we don't have anything in common to my knowledge. The other GLO's tend to be more liberal, more focused on "(insert ethnicity) power" (in my experience, which isn't worth much), listen to different music, date different people, and have totally different outlooks on Greek life. Just because we have Greek letters in our names does not mean we have anything in common.

EW, the chapter that you are active with can work toward finding your commonalities. Unless you're opinionated from the outside looking in and aren't participating in Greek life beyond fraternity parties.

And just when we almost forgot how ridiculous EW is, he reminds us.

How?
Would you disagree with any of that?
What music do you listen to normally? You like Drive By Truckers or maybe some OCMS or REK?
edit: You're the absolute archetype of what I'm talking about. You're an admitted Marxist, I would be mindblown if you liked any of the aforementioned artists, and you have this ridiculous racial power thing going on. Why would I want to hang out with you? There are differences in the Greek system and that's fine, that's cool. But I don't have to hang out with someone or be friends with someone that I don't have anything in common with. I'm not friends with alot of people within the white Greek system for this reason as well.

You are like a lot of people. You focus on exaggerated differences based on unfounded assumptions. You said the BGLO fraternities only help with step shows and that you nonchalantly couldn't tell us that there were NPHC sororities on campus.
So...what could you possibly really know about this topic? You're on some "they listen to different music" and "have a racial power thing" but how could you REALLY know that if they are barely a blip on your wanna-be-elite radar?
How much do you even know about the chapter of your organization and the campus, in general, for that matter?

Not the type of music you might assume that I do. Plus, do you know the music that these non-IFC and non-NPCers listen to "normally?" Of course you don't know. You assume.

1. You're talking personal and we're talking organizational.
2. And you have this ridiculous idiot thing going on but that shouldn't stop organizations from wanting to get to know or do programs with the guys who have allowed you to associate with their chapter.

No one?
And this isn't supposed to be about "black v white." This is about assocations between different types of organizations.

You are correct that race is embedded in this discussion but it doesn't have to be "black v white." And the extent that race is actually discussed for this topic depends on the discussees. Comments like "different type of music" and "ridiculous race power thing" are comments that can hold a negative connotation--particularly the "race power thing" comment. EW did a great job of doing what he accuses others of doing: highlighting race when it doesn't have to be the determining factor in the discussion.

You didn't know. But you should have an idea of the GLOs on your campus and a general idea of the GLO programs IF you are active with a chapter.
