There is a lot of YA literature out there for her now. As I put together the library, I learned of so many different authors out there. Walter Dean Myers has been putting out books since 1975. Sharon Draper is a favorite among teens as well.

Your Soror and my author buddy, Paula Chase, has a great series out there for teens. Also Rita Williams Garcia (I interviewed her this year ) is an AKA and Varian Johnson, another author buddy, is an Alpha. There are a few other Greek authors too, but I'll leave you to that research.

So yes, go forth and get your read on.
