Then there's "other," which needs no introduction.

Point of clarification:
Is this poll asking which doughnut is better -- KK or DD -- or which place people prefer overall? I thought it was the former. (Okay, consider the coffee that DDs are meant to dunked in if you want.)
Not that the result shouldn't be the same either way.

People actually buy donuts at DD?
KK, no doubt about it.
I picture heaven as streets of gold with Krispy Kreme donuts lining the way. Because, in heaven, there are no such thing as fat grams.

Krispy Kreme were decent until they started putting them in every 2 bit convenience store on earth. Now they're just sugary & sticky & YUCK.

i voted for dd because of only their flatbread bfkst sandwiches (the coffee is good too, though)
my favorite donut is the crueller sometimes called kruller or french kruller
Both places used to make good ones, now neither place does
but i might try them again, maybe

This is why you don't buy Krispy Kreme's from places not named "Kripsy Kreme".

That is my point. KK has compromised their brand so much in areas of the country where it hasn't always been that I don't care if they are amazing hot, I don't want one, because the thought of them just makes me kind of ill. We don't have the 75 or however many years of history that you guys have with them.
If they ever open a place down south called "Primondi's" that sells sandwiches with cole slaw & fries on them and you discover that they suck, you'll know what I mean.

You mean other than the Primanti's in Ft. Lauderdale? But yeah, I think we might know what you mean, although your comparison is a bit off the mark. No one is talking about knock-off "Krispy Kreames." We're talking about buying Krispy Kreme somewhere other than a Krispy Kreme store where they are made.
The real comparison would be if they ever start selling Primanti's sandwiches in convenience stores. And if they did, I think you might see our point as well. I'm guessing you'd be telling us that we shouldn't even think of buying Primanti sandwiches at conveniences stores, but that the ones from the "real" stores in Pittsburgh (and Ft. Lauderdale?) can't be beat.

Yes, that is a better analogy. We already say the same thing about the premade Primanti's sandwiches they sell at the baseball and football stadiums. They're good...will do if you're really craving one...but it's not the same as getting a freshly made one. But that's the problem, the only place I CAN get KK anymore is at a grocery store or convenience store.
I think this poll is probably faulty overall due to the KK going in to convenience stores et al and that's something DD didn't do. Chipotle vs. Qdoba would have been a better poll.

Amen!
Heaven on earth is a Krispy Kreme donut fresh off the conveyor belt. Sigh.
