With all due respect to the moderators, I elect that this thread be closed because as the recent posts have indicated, the basis for and who is and is not qualified to post on the topic is highly dubious.
AKA2D initially opened this thread for anyone to post, as there were no disclaimers in the opening post. Later, some non-Greeks post their views and was chastised by 2D b/c they were non-Greeks and they have not experienced Greek life. THAT was why the thread got off-topic.
Taking it a step further, few, if any Greeks posting in this thread has experienced disgruntlement with their organization to the point of permanent separation (if they have, they have been silent).
Therefore, if the only qualified posters of any thread should be those who directly experience something, then it begs the question of why are Greeks any more qualified then non-Greeks to speak on something they have not experienced.
I have nothing but love for any GCers, but in all fairness I think 2D was wrong for restricting the thread to Greeks when on the very nature of the subject she (and a lot of other Greeks) was an outsider herself.
I humbly ask that in light of the above, that the thread either be open for non-Greeks to post, or to close it entirely.
