I encounter Midwesterners all the time, from all over the Midwest, who claim not to have accents. It's comical because their accents are always clear as day to me. It's also interesting because people in the same area can have different accents.

What's the place where the "news anchor accent" stems from? There are a few states that claim they have a neutral accent.
