Go Sigs!

Do you (anyone else) know how the opposing team is selected? I recall reading that Sigma Chi was in (and won) the Charity Bowl a few years back. I was wondering if there is some sort of competition between the other fraternities to get into the the game or if Sigma Nu selects their opponent.

Regardless, it is an impressive philanthropy event. Major kudos to Sigma Nu and the Ole Miss community.

I think the fraternity that can afford to pay for jerseys and the entry fee gets picked. At least I had heard that at one time. I know some years it has been a fraternity from Mississippi State too.

I'd read in years past (the last time EX played) that it was the fraternity that raised the most money for the philanthropy.

Maybe it is a little bit of both. X number of dollars (entry fee as it were) needs to be raised just to be considered. And I would guess having full on jerseys, pads and helmets helps too.

And so to understand it correctly, there are no other games leading up to the Charity Bowl - i.e. no playoffs. Just the one game.
