To set the record straight on this group... These "Kappa Gamma" girls had not contacted KKG's HQ about possible affiliation and were denied because the campus was not of a certain prestige. And most likely, the fact that they adopted all of the symbols and colors of KKG without any intent in pursuing affiliation is probably the major strike against them if they ever tried to pursue affiliation in the future. Imitation is not impressive when the imitation is verging close to fraud in trying to purport an affiliation that isn't there. The fact that these members thought that type of pretend affiliation was okay says more about their deficient character than anything.
I can't imagine an NPC group being flattered by a copy-cat group under these circumstances. It is one thing if you have contacted that NPC and are in the process of getting a charter (and using the NPC's colors openly and with the NPC group's knowledge). It is another thing to take all the symbols and colors without having first made any attempt to affiliate. To me, it shows ignorance and a lack of respect for what those symbols and colors might mean to the hundreds of thousands of initiated women that call themselves members of the national group.
Being a Kappa is a lot more than throwing a key on a blouse... I'd think that any woman pursuing the establishment of a colony would be wise to be sensitive to that before adopting symbols, colors and letters that have a specific meaning to many women throughout this country and others.
