I probably should have posted this here rather than in the tournament bracket thread: http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...9&postcount=30

FYI
UT Lady Vols have an excellent graduation rate.
Coach Summitt has a 100 percent graduation rate for all Lady Vols who have completed their eligibility at Tennessee.
I think the men's program is around 75% at Tennessee.

Sorry, no.

Two of the No. 2 seeds, Tennessee and Texas, graduated only 33 percent of their players for the period studied. The other second seeds, Georgetown and Duke, had success rates of 82 percent and 67 percent, respectively.

Yikes...that is bad!
I glanced at this stat when researching the Lady Vols...
The University of Tennessee men’s and women’s athletics departments announced Wednesday a graduation success rate of 75 percent for student-athletes who entered the university during the 2000-01 school year.
I see now that it's all of the athletes together -- love it how they use the females to raise the stats!

I wonder if the study took into account the number of student-athletes that leave school early to play in the NBA? I know that the NCAA does.
For example, UK's 2008 Senior class will have a 50% graduation rate. However, two members of this class left college early to play in the NBA. Of the remaining two student-athletes, both will graduate.

One could spend some time with a search engine looking at subjects like:
student-athletes graduation rates et al.
