My freshman year, I lived in Holland Hall. I wasn't Greek at the time, but my friends and I did have some antics.
After watching Patch Adams, we decided to recreate the balloon-filled room for our friend Amy's birthday. We went down to a party store in the strip district and bought a big bag of balloons (300 balloons I think). Our friend Missa had a single on the 7th floor, so we decided to blow up the balloons there and just call Amy downstairs. Since it was a single, the room would look really full of balloons. Since Amy was a math major, Missa pretended to need help with math homework and asked her to come downstairs. After we suprised her and sang happy birthday to her and had cake, Missa wanted the balloons out of her room. So we stole trash bags from the bathroom and filled them up with the balloons and took them to Amy's room on the 10th floor. We spread the balloons all over the room and she kept them there for a few day, until her bitchy roommate complained. Since their room was right across the hall from the elevator, we just held open the elevator doors and kicked all the balloons into the elevators.
Since there were little kitchens (with stove/oven) in the dorms, we decided to have a dinner party. We borrowed a large folding table and a bunch of chairs from the lounge on the 11th floor, and we brought them downstairs to Amy's room for our sit-down dinner party. The guest of honor was Missa's violin teacher's boyfriend who read "Winnie the Pooh" to us after dinner.
At the end of the year, there was a suggestion box in the lobby for ways to improve Holland Hall. We filled the box up with ridiculous suggestions for luxury items, and I also made a suggestion to let gay men move into Holland Hall so it would still be a place where girls felt safe but we'd still have some cute guys to look at.
