I have never heard about a party, but I see ads on TV all of the time for buying it. From what I understand, they pay you the absolute minimum, since they will be melting it down anyway. They bill it as, "get paid for your broken junk"

Incidently, I sold a bunch of junk rhinestones on eBay about a year ago. These we piecees that were broken or missing their stones. An artist bought them and she turns them into new jewelry.

I don't know what company or person is doing the one I was just invited to. My cousin who went lives in Macomb Township and this one is in White Lake, so I don't think it's someone who is downriver based.

I figure I'll take my stuff and see what they offer. They do tell you what they'll give you for it and then you can decide what you want to sell them. Since I know a pawn broker offered me $20 for my first husband's wedding ring, I have something to sort of base whether it's a good offer or not. I went through all my mom's old jewelry and separated out stuff I wanted to keep for it's sentimental or family heirloom type value but I know I saw a lot of kinked herringbone chains in her stuff. I need to go through the box again and pull out all of that. If it's stuff I'm not going to use, why not?

By the way, we went to your restaurant for my daughter's birthday! I looked for someone who looked like you and was going to say something if I thought I saw you, but I didn't. I had the lasagne... it was awesome.

He's our espresso guy Lol but I guess my dad has known him. Very nice guy. I have SO much gold from my 27 years of being alive. For those who don't know, Italian children start getting pricey jewelry the minute they are born. My nephew got 3 or 4 beautiful, large crosses for his baptism. I'm not sure if I would do it though.

What night were you there? I usually work days but I was there Saturday night. And FYI we have our guitar player there on Fridays and Saturdays and while he takes his yearly trip to France, we'll be having an Italian father and son come in and play on the weekends... accordian and banjo! You'll def have to stop in again and let me know!

It was Saturday, the 12th. She didn't decide until the last minute where she wanted to go and she picked yours because she wanted cannoli!

I've never heard of a Gold Party, but it sounds like a neat idea. One question - do they have jewelers on-hand to ensure that the gold is indeed real? Or do you just walk around during the evening with the piece you like - and oh - if it turns your hand green you pass it back?

I guess they have some sort of thing that can read whether it's gold or not and how many karats. They differently based on the quality.
