For Alpha Phi Alpha and Alpha Kappa Alpha collections, try the Moorland-Spingarn Research Center, located in the Howard University Library. On a research trip with a friend, we both looked through old issues of The Sphinx and The Ivy Leaf.

Cornell University also has an Alpha Phi Alpha archive, mostly specific to Alpha Chapter.
