wow, that is horrible! i have only done that when my tables ASK me to bring it to them.

I think that's really rude too. I've had that happen to me several times... and each time, the server never came back to see if we needed refills, or wanted dessert or anything.

That kind of "service" does not merit a great tip IMHO.
