We sure don't like it when new trash talkers come here. It puts the old ones out of commission.

I know GDIs who whore 'nalia. In some instances the person didn't get cursed out or physically harmed. They just ended up joining another organization because the organization whose symbols were worn didn't want them.

When those my mother is... t-shirts first came out they were in baby to adolescent sizes and said mommy. Then the vendors started making them in teen sizes with mother on them. I have heard of a few instances (fortunately not recently)where college freshman thought they would be cute to wear. Needless to say...

That is awful!!! There was a girl in my dorm freshman year that had one. Also there was a girl (college aged) a couple of months ago that had one of those string backpacks that said 'Future AKA'. I almost flipped, but she was with a woman who had on an AKA hat whom I guess was related. I just walked away, because I didn't know what to say.

How in the world would her relative NOT tell her that it was NOT cool to do that??? If my little sister started wearing "Future AST" shirts, I'd flip.

So wait. Do you mean that there are people who spend their entire lives pretending to be a member of a GLO that they're not part of??

This is blowing my mind right now. I need a minute.

No, I mean the relatives have not been active with the org since college and all they do now is wear 'nalia. Remember our alumnae(i) chapters are just as prominent as our collegiate chapters and hold a certain "status" in our communities.

But on the other hand there are folx like what you described. Some have been caught, but I bet there are still some out there getting away with it.

LG, I didn't about it like that. It had to be a reason that a MEMBER would think it is ok for an ADULT to wear future anything stuff.....especially in public.

I dont see anything wrong with those shirts when they are being worn by babies and toddlers. Anything past that though,ESPECIALLY in the teen years is not cute and are lame.
