i had that problem but "needed" to have something help me stay awake in class after working the midnight shift so i started with cafe mocha's and started adding more espresso til i was okay to try heavily half and halfed coffee. now i drink coffee and love it.
it took some "training" but it worked.

ps. personally i'm not a fan of store bought or restaurant carrot cake. my grandma made a
mean carrot cake from scratch and i just have never been able to find that in a store bought or restaurant carrot cake. i keep crossing my fingers but i'll usually just end up taking two bites and being disappointed...
