Hmm
I was NOT feeling Tweet at all. I didn't know that was her for a minute. She looked weird to me. Even though I like Missy, how she is she going to get hers BEFORE Latifah? I don't get that part. And Tim's been getting it in..way to go!
Can I say I still love Ice-T with his old azz
Loved the old old skool part with Grand Wizard Theodore, KRS, Grand Master Busy Bee...ahh when the DJ's Ruled..
LOVED WHODINI...5 Minutes of Funk, Big Mouth....when my man did the Prep I was on the floor....
What in the HADES was T-Pain attempting to do???? He put me in Pain trying to listen to his behind....
Was never really into New Jack Swing..would have rather they honored the Native Tongue Movement (yes I was a backpacker). Who was the guy w/ Teddy though?
ATCQ...they found Jarobi for the show!!!! I am glad that Phife is doing better (fighting diabetes + dialysis). I miss them and Busta for Scenerio was the BEST...(listening to Low End Theory right now). I wish De La could have been a part of their honoring..but I am happy to see them again.
Call me old but 80-90's rap is still the best to me!

Ok, that is what is wrong with Phife because I think it was last week Wendy Williams was talking about a pic of him in a mag and she was dissing him like crazy talking about how he was looking. I mean she and her side kick Charlamagne were like he was looking like doo doo.
I so agree, rap in the 80's early 90's was the IT.....ya heard.

I would have felt like a kid again if Latifah, De La Soul, Jungle Brothers, Monie and ATCQ would have done "Buddy." Would have lost my natural mind.

Ok, for real the tribute to Whodini was the shyt. I liked everyone, hell even Nick Cannon was good. All I'm saying is Whodini still got it....hell was that Dr. Ice from UTFO out there doing like he use to do, and when he was out there doing the prep with Nellie, hey it didn't get no better than that.
Naw for real i am like tripping that Harvey Keitel is doing the Snoop tribute....that is hella-funny.
Will someone please tell Bow Wow that you can't be gangsta and only be 5ft tall....he he he

Had only seen a little bit last night (had to watch Boondocks) but saw the whole thing tonight.
Who told Tweet that the poodle hair was in style? She looked a HAM. And Ciara is not Aalyiah reincardinated (sp)!!!!
To me, Ne-yo was o.k., channeling his inner-MJ. But Keyshia and T-Pain: SMH.
Loved the Whodini tribute. Everybody was good on that one.
ATCQ: Didn't know Phife is ill, but glad he is doing better. I wish they would hurry up and do that reunion album they've been talking about for years.
Snoop: they went and did songs when he still had Doggy in his name.
The reaction to Kool Moe Dee was the same to the one when I saw Big Daddy Kane in Dave Chappell's Block Party: And Busta need to stay away from the drinks.

What is up with Phife Dawg
A Tribe Called Quest is being celebrated for their ingenuity and creativity tonight on Hip Hop Honors, but one of its members, Phife Dawg, gets extra respect for the courage he’s brought to his battle against diabetes. The ailment afflicts a big chunk of the African American population; reports tell us that 13 percent of blacks over the age of 20 suffer with the condition. Phife, one of the Tribe’s founding members, is fighting the condition with dialysis, and a recent switch in treatments has made him feel much better, one of the reasons he was able to participate in the Honors show.
“For the last 3 yrs I’ve been a dialysis patient,” says Phife. “The first two years I was on peritoneal dialysis, which caused me to gain a great deal of weight. For the last seven months I’ve switched over to hemodialysis, which has caused me to lose weight and has me feeling a whole lot better. Most people aren’t used to seeing me at this weight. Initially, I weighed too much for my size and height and now I’m where I need to be.”
As for his future outlook, Phife says: “My best friend and manager, Rasta Root, volunteered to be tested as a potential kidney donor, and he passed the screening process. It’s great news for me! Hopefully that will happen sooner than later. It’s been a tough year, but things are looking great for me.
I am grateful that my group is receiving this honor, and would like to thank friends, family and fans for their prayers and well wishes.”
Hip Hop Honors CO-Executive Producer Fab 5 Freddy was thrilled that his friend’s current condition allowed for full participation. “Working on this year’s show was a labor of love, our best ever, and Phife’s health was constantly on our minds as we re-worked shoots and interviews to accommodate his good days and bad days all the while hoping and praying that he’d have a good day on show day so the world could nod there heads once again to A Tribe Called Quest, one of hip hop’s most unique and creative groups. They were prime representatives of young black artistic intelligence throughout the 90s, a rare commodity in today’s hip-hop landscape. Phife had a great day at Hip Hop Honors and Tribe closed the show with a big bang.”

Thanks for this. I knew that he had diabetes, but I didn't know about the dialysis. I knew he didn't look good last night, though.

OH
MY
Goodness.... I would probably still be laying out in the family room. LOL
That was so good for me. I miss my Tribe. They even brought Consequence out for the last song - I was wondering if he was gonna show up.

LMAO! That's exactly what I said! I had to dust off my Best of Tribe this morning.... I miss the OLD Busta.... I loved it!
*sidenote* Seeing my 2nd husband (Common) perform my favorite song by my all time favorite group...... PRICELESS. I straight up had a moment.
