There were a few rumblings around webworld that the entire show was a hoax. I read that he was happily married to the mother of his two daughters (Kristi Lynn something or other) and living in Arizona. I read a few things that the show was to revamp his career and promote an album coming out in a couple weeks. It's interesting to think about though!

I can't remember where I read it (it was either Wikipedia or imdb.com) that Bret's still married to Kristi Lynn Gibson. The article did say (even before the show started) that he and Kristi Lynn were separated. It's likely the contestants were all aware of that as well.

I don't what kind of wife would let her husband live in a house of whore-like women just to re-vamp his career if they were really happily married. I just don't buy it.

He was here for a New Year's Eve concert last year (05-06) and I heard a couple of stories about him hooking up with girls.

If they really were hoaxing, I think it would have been more obviously scripted (like the Scott Baio show, which I think was a complete fabrication).
