If there is a need for Advisors, they won't care if you have been a member for 5 minutes or 5 years. However, the rule is that you have to be a member of an Alumnae Chapter to be an advisor. There really is no minimum amount of time. I lived in Orlando in the late 1990s, and I joined the Alumnae Chapter and about a minute later I was judicial advisor for Eta Kappa. I think you should go for it!
