I agree completely that maybe, there has been an abundance of sarcasm sprouting up everywhere, and perhaps, some rudeness. I usually don't even like to post in the greek life forum anymore because either the threads were getting somewhat repetative, or a bit too controversial for me to decide to take a side on.
BUT, i also agree with OTW. Maybe jumping down new posters' throats about doing searches before hand has gotten a little out of hand. But responding negatively, or even harshly to threads, posts and posters who are so obviously either ignorant or trying to stir up heated arguments, is justified. Ignorance is no excuse. How much brain power does it take to realize that asking if we greeks are all for, oh, i dunno, let's say, dirty rushing, is dumb. And i'll say so because unlike the saying, there IS such a thing as a stupid question.
